Week 1 Summary (04/12/1911 - 04/16/1911)

Philadelphia (AL) Manager
Connie Mack
The 1911 replay is underway and week one is in the books. Games started on Wednesday so it is a short week, plus there were two tie games already. It's hard to draw any conclusions at this juncture, so I am not going to do any team or player commentary just yet, and of course, it is way too early to think the leader boards are worthy of comment. A couple of teams have had an early blow-out win and their team stats are somewhat inflated with the small sample size, but this will even out as the season progresses. Cleveland has played five games and has four players with five games hitting streaks - this too will not last.

I do see that I am way behind of stolen base attempts and on sacrifices already … I thought I was being aggressive on both, but I am going to have to continue to push on these going forward. There have been three different players who were injured due to hit-by-pitches in the first couple of days (I only have rest-of-game injuries). Then, later in the week, there were two pitchers ejected for multiple HBP's or for retaliation. Apparently, I must have sent a memo out to the league about cracking down on this sort of activity.
